Well nobody can say that 2021 didn’t come roaring in. With the effects of the pandemic having far reaching impacts on how we deliver and a huge increase in freight through our warehouse, along with the developing partnerships with new and existing customers we have invested heavily in our operations so we can continue to provide the excellent levels of customer support we have become so well known for. We have purchased a brand new DAF XF, a Mercedes Rigid and 8 new trailers. A brand new double deck trailer was also added to the fleet to support our new contracts.
In addition to this and to recognise the extra work that such an increase in freight will require in the warehouse, we have also sourced 4 new electric pump trucks.
Its not only the fleet that has seen changes. We recognise that the increase in workload could have a negative impact on some people’s mental health so we thought it essential to have a support system in place. Two of our employees, Karol and Leah have been attending the FAA Level 3 Award in Supervising First Aid for Mental Health. This means they will be able to recognise a wide range of mental health conditions and know how to start a supportive conversation and signpost staff to the appropriate mental health help. Staff will also know where to go if they need any support.
The first quarter of 2021 has seen such difficulties for so many but we are blessed to have been able to continue to provide our services throughout and it has given us the opportunity to look closely at the business and see what actually works better in some cases with the changes. So, onwards and upwards to the next quarter! Hopefully with more of a return to some form of normality.
